LudoLudo's Summer 2025 Recap
Summer 2025 was a season of joy, community, and sustainability for LudoLudo, Montreal's circular toy library! From pop-ups to festivals, we connected with families across the city to show how easy—and fun—it is to play more sustainably. Here's a look back at our summer highlights and what's next as we head into fall. 🌞
Why Sustainable Play Matters in Montreal
As Montreal's first circular toy library, LudoLudo is on a mission to reduce toy waste and make quality play accessible for all families. This summer alone, Montreal families enjoyed over 90 play experiences through our service. Together, we saved approximately 150 kg of CO₂ and conserved 6,000 litres of water from new toy production - proving that small actions add up to create real environmental impact in our community.

Our Summer 2025 Highlights
1. Spring Kick-Off Pop-Up: Community Toy Exchange
We launched the season with our April pop-up event in collaboration with Nouvelle Vague. During this month, we invited Montreal families to discover the service, but also participate in our buy-back programme. Parents brought in gently-used toys in exchange for discounts on our circular toy library subscriptions. This spring cleaning initiative helped refresh our curated collection while introducing dozens of new families to the benefits of sustainable play.
2. Celebrating La Grande Ourse's 24th Anniversary
In June, we proudly joined our local partner La Grande Ourse to celebrate their 24th anniversary. This beloved Montreal boutique has been inspiring children and families for over two decades with their commitment to quality and imagination. Partnering with like-minded local businesses strengthens our shared mission of promoting thoughtful, sustainable play experiences.
3. Startupfest 2025: Innovation Meets Circular Economy
After being selected as one of the 5 emerging entrepreneurs with C2 Montréal, July brought LudoLudo to Startupfest. Throughout these 3 days, we showcased our circular play model alongside Montreal's most innovative entrepreneurs. We connected with investors, fellow founders, and curious families, sharing how toy rental services can reduce household expenses, minimize clutter, and contribute to Montreal's growing circular economy movement.
4. Le Flim Festival with Ilo 🌿
At the end of July, we partnered with Ilo at Le Flim Festival, bringing sustainable play directly to Montreal families in a vibrant festival setting. It was incredible to see children discover our curated wooden toys while parents learned about the benefits of circular play. Collaborations like these help us reach families where they are, creating community connections beyond our regular delivery service.
